BEL311: WRITING FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES

My dear BEL311 students,
Hi and welcome to this blog which I have specially created to facilitate the teaching and learning of the BEL311 course.
As you are all well aware, the BEL311 course is a different ballgame altogether, compared to the previous two BEL course you had already undergone, namely the BEL120 and the BEL260 courses.
While those courses worked on your proficiency, the BEL311 emphasises on the skills needed to produce an academic (term) paper at the end of the semester. Hence, all our class activities are geared towards that purpose.

So, after having undergone the BEL311 course for the last two months, I'm sure you've plenty to share with me and your other classmates of your thoughts, expectations and experiences in the BEL311 class. I'd like to hear some frank opinions from all of you ... and DON'T WORRY as there'll be no penalty for any adverse comments.

    I found,it is somehow very useful in contributing students writing skill in professional world as we will become engineer soon....we appreciating for that...but the class sometime a bit slow.So we hope e-learning can bring some improvement....can we look forward about that?

    i think bel311 is more interesting than the previous course. this is because we are only concentrating on one thing that is ACADEMIC WRITING. but the thing is, i dont really know how i will be using it in the future. maybe i just need to step back and get the whole idea of learning bel311.

    In my opinion, the course BEL311 is more better than the two previous course, namely BEL120 and BEL260. The reason is because this course give a guideline to students how to write an academic essay or term paper. And also, compared to traditional learning, I'm interested in online learning as there are many references and informations on the internet that we can refer to. We can learn while searching for informations on the internet and students can also refer to online dictionary if they encounter difficult words.

    hello.
    this Bel 311 teach me how to master to do the outline and language skill.
    We also learning how to take a reference from other sources.
    it help me a lot to improve our skill in english languagae.

    after i read your post...
    i see that this BEL311 subject is much more on the skills needed to produce an academic term paper at the end of the semester.
    i hope this class can improve my writing and my language soon.
    ps:- i hope you can give atleast 10% bonus mark for the term paper.

    Hello sir..i like to learn english..but i always failed how to improve it. Before this i try to improve my english through chatting with all people around world, but i failed how to communicate with good english and how to used new words when chatting with them. I also feel afraid to speak in english in real life. So, I hope this website can help me to be more confident with english languages.Congrats sir to create all this for your student. (^_^)

    It is so heartwarming to see that so many of you had taken the initiative to participate in the discussion, and I also got to know, to an extent of your thoughts and opinions regarding BEL311. believe me, it is indeed very different from the BEL120 and BEL260 courses.
